How much better?

General chit-chat on the Linx Versare 12"

How much better?

by Popc0rn » February 1st, 2018, 5:12 am

I'm dithering over whether to buy a Linx 12x64, but I can't work out from the spec's given just how much better the Linx 12x64 is over my Linx 10. Will I see a big improvement? I'd be very grateful for your techie advice and experience, please.

Perhaps you could express your your view in terms of percentages, such as, "The Linx 12x64 performs about 25% better than the Linx 10".

Thanks for any help you can give me with my questions here.

I upgraded from a reconditioned Linx 10 to a new 12x64 about a month ago.

Whilst I'm not running numerous programs at the same time, for what I use it for, it does seem faster, although not sure now much in terms of percentage. It can feel a little unwieldy when using it as a tablet, due to the size and weight, but it's not a huge problem. It certainly feels more substantial than the 10 anyway.

Other than a couple of minor niggles, I've been very impressed with it so far.

I don't have a 10, so this is based on just the 12x64.

I find it a lovely device, great for having a full W10 experience. Really good for watching things like Netflix on.

The shortcomings are mainly speed. It is what it is and can be a little sluggish when pushed. For example I just created a full picture calendar in MS publisher, and while it did this fine it was a bit slow compared to the snappy performance from a full spec PC.

That said as this has 4gb ram and a 64gb sad, I am not seeing anything else even close for £170 . If you want more then you are looking closer to £300.

I was not a fan of W10, but in this in tablet mode I am loving it.

Thanks for your input, I'm looking for some good deals on a 12x64 now. Fully intend to get one when the prices come down a little.
