Issues following 1803 update

If its broke and it doesn't turn on you probably wanna post in here.

Issues following 1803 update

by stuarta » August 13th, 2018, 12:12 am

Since Windows automatically updated my 1010 to 1803 (OS Build 17134.191) it has lost cameras, sound and touch screen functionality. Also, I have to correct the orientation of the screen every time I turn it on.

Device Manager shows no issues. the sound controllers are simply absent and a red circle with white x is displayed next to the speaker icon in the systray.

I've tried to follow the advice in other threads in this forum but to no avail.

Check the posts in Drivers section. I know for a fact there is an excellent thread about this particular issue. You should find your solution there

viewforum.php?f=41

In fact, try this link - viewtopic.php?f=65&t=3180&p=17243#p17243. If you follow my 'instructions' there, using the links there, you will find a solution. However, there is a lot of reading etc and this is not a 'quick fix' as you'll need to work your way through it all.

Just tried the first step. Can't see problems with I2C controller because it's not listed in Device Manager. Using the drivers, I add legacy hardware for the I2C controller but Windows says it won't start. It did the same yesterday when I tried to get the sound working.

I was hoping to avoid 'going nuclear' and reinstalling everything. Partly because it feels like giving up on solving the actual problem which could reappear at the next update.

Thanks.

Hi I had very similar problems with my 1010B and a friends 1010, but I managed to sort them.

I've got too much stuff to get done just now but I will try to remember what I did. I may even have made a note of the solution so, as soon as I have some time, I'll give this some attention.

In the meantime, keep Google-ing and searching the forums but maybe research for each different issue as I suspect you may get a better selection of suggestions. Also, when searching, leave of 'Linx'. Many other tablets have had these issues and the fix may well be amongst other 'makes'.

Please post back as you find solutions so I don't waste my time searching for stuff you've already solved ;) Thanks

To fix AutoRotate, try this link

(3rd post down)

Go to the link given in and copy/paste into Notepad, Save As, and save. Then 'Rename' and remove the .txt extension, so you have 'PriorityControl.reg' file.

To use Priority Control file

Press Windows Key, type RegEdit, Click on File, Export - to save existing File

Then, Double Click PriorityControl.reg file, click 'yes' etc to open Registry etc,
Click 'Yes' to add to registry
etc, come out of Registry, if not already out.

All should be working

Hi.

Easiest option for all drivers after windows 1803 install is to use

Intel compute stick drivers

File to search on Google is

Soc_byt_win10_32

It is a zip file around 997kb in size

Unzip and install, then right click on my pc
Select manage and go into hardware
Select update drivers on the relevant device.

You may still have an auto rotate issue which can be fixed with a registry fix on these forums.

Thank you thj1968. Worked perfect!

After the 1803 update my audio, camera and SD card didnt work. But after downloaded the file and run the setup everything is back to normal. I tried first to go into device manager and update each individual device but that didnt work. Instead I run the included setup.exe file and that did work. My computer is a lamina/linx t-1010b-nord.
