New 10" Linx '1010' Tablet Incoming

Postby KultiVator » August 18th, 2015, 2:34 pm

A new and more rounded Linx 1010 tablet is listed for launch on 24th August 2015 on Amazon / eBuyer / etc.

Many of the specs look similar to the current Linx 10 (2GB RAM / 32GB storage / 1.3GHz CPU [with burst of 1.83Ghz] and the same ~30 watt-hour battery capacity) - however, notable changes include 2x full-size USB sockets as well as a separate OTG USB - and of course, Windows 10 is now pre-installed.

One other detail appearing in a datasheet I found is that the 1010's OTG socket will support both charging and data - a welcome step up from the data-only mode included on the current 10" Linx.

My final hope relates to USB 3.0 - as the current Linx 10 has a USB 3.0-capable chipset, but no support in the tablet's external interfacing. It'd be really interesting if the Linx 10 puts this right (e.g. please let those 2 full-size USB sockets be USB 3 capable this time around for faster transfers to/from USB 3.0 drives and action cameras e.g. GoPro and the like).

Only a few days to wait to find out more.

In the mean time you can find more details here:

Thanks Dann - I've just this minute added a note about the Linx 810 in the Linx 8 section.

Looking forward to seeing the competition details ;-)

Three weeks after I have bought mine! Typical! Good to see linx further developing through, the addition of 2 USB ports is very impressive!

Remember Amazon have a 28/30 day return policy! ;)

I'll be making an announcement in the next couple of days when the full spec sheets get sent to me, should be by Wednesday!

It was pc world I got mine. But I'm happy with it, I have USB via the adapter so all is good. Great to see linx growing through further developing their tablets. The 10 really is a great productivity device. Guess the key thing is how the new keyboard works, seems to be different by the photos. I plan to get the origami one for this tablet in the next month or so.

Oooh they do!

The amazon bundle interestingly has the new keyboard case! (Link)

From what Exertis told me, they've improved it so you can now only put the tablet into the keyboard one way (to prevent the short circuiting in the origami one) and it looks more like a 2 in 1..

Looks good, though there appears to have been a bit of a price hike - got my 10" from Sainsbury's for £129 earlier in the year.

I was hoping for a bit faster processor or ram, so just for general surfing may not be worth the upgrade for some people. It looks more aesthetically pleasing to me though.

Remember the Amazon one has the brand new keyboard with it too, probably worth £30-£40, so the tablet works out around £130ish
